In 1991 Jack Tolman was hired by the Norwood School Department as the Director of TV/Video Services. One of his early goals was to organize, maintain and centralize a library of all the vintage film and video material located throughout the school buildings. This material included 16mm film, 8mm film, super 8mm film, black and white videotape, ¾ inch videotape, slides, audiotape, photographs and VHS videotape. The content included sporting events, musicals, field trips, concerts, classroom activities, dedications and student projects. The transfer of this material to digital files and DVD’s is still on-going and Jack has amassed a library of over 2,000 programs. This rare vintage material is broadcast on a weekly basis on the Educational Access Channel.
